Oppression takes place among families in every culture…it just looks different.
I have known many women who cover because of their own desire for modesty and holiness; and I have known those that truly are oppressed.
I am thankful that my relationship with God is not based on rules and rituals, but rather on a relationship with Him.
While I would not put all covered women in the box of oppression at the hands of a male-dominated society, I would consider them to be under spiritual oppression due to feeling bound by rigid, Pharasaical rules in order to please God. What are your thoughts?
